Delete your account
You can delete your Smart Animal account and its data at any time, from inside the app or by email. You do not need to give a reason.
In the app
- Open the Settings tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Deletion is immediate and your sign-in stops working.
By email, if you can no longer use the app
Send an email to support@smart-animal.com with the subject "Delete my account", from the email address your account is registered under. We will confirm receipt and complete the deletion within 30 days, almost always much sooner.
What gets deleted
- Your personal details: name, email address and password hash.
- Your photos and uploaded veterinary documents.
- Your device's push notification registration.
Your dog's health records are retained in anonymised form, identified only by a random code that cannot be traced back to you, and may be used for research and service improvement. They are shared with researchers only where you had opted in to research sharing; data already shared in anonymised form cannot always be recalled.
Backups containing deleted data expire automatically on a rolling schedule measured in days.
Want a copy first?
Before deleting, you can export everything: in the app, open Settings, then My data, and download your export. Deletion cannot be undone, so take the copy first if you are unsure.
